Charity named after former Ramsey resident donates £80,000 to Queen's Pier restoration

A charity named after a former Ramsey resident will fund the restoration of Bay 11 at the Queen's Pier.

Alan Chinery was originally from London, but retired to the Island in 1971.

He became a well-known member of the Ramsey community, including occasionally driving the train on Queen's Pier.

The Alan Chinery Charitable Trust, which was set up following his death, has donated £80,000 to the Queen's Pier Restoration Trust to continue its work on the Victorian structure.

QPRT says the donation as a fantastic amount and a magnificent gesture.
