Gary Shaughnessy CBE completed 1,500km ride from Switzerland

A charity cyclist received a warm welcome from Zurich colleagues on the Isle of Man after completing a 1,500-kilometre ride from Switzerland.

Gary Shaughnessy CBE is the chair of the Z Zurich Foundation chair, and visited local charities Isle Listen and Hospice Isle of Man during the final leg of his journey.

The ride is part of 60 sporting challenges Gary has set himself for his 60th birthday, raising money for Parkinson’s UK and the Personal Best Foundation.

Following his own Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2015, Gary has become a passionate advocate for the charity and uses endurance sport both as a means of managing his condition and to raise funds and awareness for charitable causes.

Support from Zurich staff, business partners and the wider community is expected to raise more than £120,000 for 15 local charities.
