Charity bosses give fit-for-work evidence

Evidence on assessments to be heard later

Leading figures at two Manx charities will give evidence to a Tynwald inquiry into fit-for-work tests today (11 May).

Tynwald's social affairs scrutiny committee is examining the operation of personal capability assessments in the Island - a process which has proved controversial.

First to give evidence today is Marcia Brabbs, founder of a new Manx charity for victims of domestic abuse, Safe, Strong Secure.

She will be followed by Celia Marshall, chairman of the Isle of Man ME Support Group.

Their evidence will be taken in the Legislative Council Chamber from 2.30pm by a three-man committee chaired by David Cretney MLC.
