First-timers receive vital donations towards their efforts

Newcomers to this year's Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT have received vital support from local charities.

First-timers to both meetings have each received £900 to help with their campaigns courtesy of the Mike Hailwood Foundation and Tracey's Pictures.

MGP newcomers also received a separate £500 donation from the Manx Grand Prix Supporters Club last weekend.

One of those competitors making their maiden appearance this year is Manxman, Illiam Quayle.

He explains how much it means to have the support of the racing community and also what it meant to do his newcomers lap (16 August) riding behind his dad and former TT winner Richard 'Milky' Quayle:

Across both meetings in 2026 there are 31 newcomers, hailing from nearly 20 different nations, all of whom were presented with their awards in a presentation at the Mike Hailwood Foundation yesterday (18 August).

Among those benefiting from the support were Isle of Man competitor Kyle Casement, Austrian newcomer Thomas Altendorfer and Scottish rider Ashley Robson:
