Changes to planning laws to be debated in October

Two public consultations are currently seeking feedback

Changes to the Island's planning laws will be debated in the House of Keys in October.

The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture wants to make what it calls 'minor' amendments to simplify some elements of legislation.

There are currently two public consultations running - one about changes to work that can be done without a planning application and the other redefining what is classed as a 'development' for planning purposes and updating Registered Building Regulations.

Minister Clare Barber says it's not about relaxing laws but making them more intuitive:
