Steam Packet says it's contacting affected passengers
The Steam Packet is making changes to its sailing schedule over the coming weeks, blaming low tides and insufficient clearance at Heysham Port.
It says once again, the recent bad winter weather has led to added silting in the Lancashire Port.
This has forced it to make changes to the schedule to comply with safety requirements as there's too little water to carry out berthing operations safely.
While the Steam Packet hasn't detailed which sailings are affected yet, it says customers booked on the relevant crossings will be contacted.
The company adds it is in contact with Peel Ports to mitigate the problem at Heysham and limit disruptions going forward.
Peel Ports added: "The Port has brought forward its scheduled dredging campaign which will commence next week and is expected to address the current water depth issues.”
