Ploughers moved along
One of the rural highlights of the Manx winter takes place today (Saturday).
The 81st Cronk y Voddy Ploughing Match gets underway at 10.30am - but at a different venue to the one originally advertised.
The traditional event will now take place at Ballakaighen Farm, Cronk y Voddy, rather than Lhergy Dhoo Farm.
Tractors, vintage tractors and the ever-popular horses will all be in action in world and Manx styles, along with tea, bacon baps and the best cakes in the west to keep out the cold.
A prize presentation, concert and supper will take place this evening in the Methodist Hall, St Johns at 7.45pm, chaired by Dot Tilbury MBE.
The event will be particularly poignant this year as two stalwarts of the Cronk y Voddy Society - Donald Cannan and Roy Kennaugh - both passed away in recent weeks.
