First ever opera in Manx to be performed in Peel

There’s a chance to experience the Island’s native tongue in a different way tomorrow (25 September). 

The first-ever Manx language opera is being performed at St German’s Cathedral in Peel.

It’s been written by Dr Matthew Warren and translated by Bob Carswell as part of the Manx Language Festival 2026,

Matthew says he’s looking forward to the work’s premiere:
