Charity winding down operations after 51 years
The chairman of the Manx Grand Prix Supporters Club says he's 'really proud' of the legacy the organisation has built over more than half a century.
The charity is now winding down its operations after 51 years of service following a unanimous vote by members to dissolve it.
Whilst the club under its current guise will cease, its support will continue as part of an upcoming merger into what will be known as the MGP Supporters Benevolent Fund.
Allan Brew is thanking all of the club's volunteers, and the motorcycling community, for allowing the charity to offer vital services for more than five decades:
The MGP Supporters Club believes, since its inception, it's been able to donate 'in excess of £1.3million' to causes such as funding the rescue helicopter for the event and assisting injured MGP riders and their families.
The club's remaining assets will now be transferred to the MGP Supporters Benevolent Fund where support for injured riders will carry on into the future.
