It comes as the town celebrates the area's 130th anniversary
The 'greatest gift' ever given to Castletown will be celebrating its 130th anniversary - starting with a re-enactment march.
That's from the Chair of the commissioners, Tony Brown, who says Poulsom Park is important to the town and will be marking the occasion by recreating the protest which led to the land being given to the town.
He says residents protested after a local landowner closed public access to fields, and Mary Ann Poulsom, who was living in Liverpool at the time, granted the town a piece of land to ensure the incident didn't happen again.
He adds that the future of the park is 'in the hands' of the local authority but will aim to keep it 'free and available' for residents and visitors.
