DoI given £1 'peppercorn' lease for additional spaces
A section of the Castle Mona Hotel site has been made available for parking whilst Douglas promenade undergoes refurbishment works.
The Tevir Group, who acquired the building for £1.2 million in October last year, has leased part of the grounds to the Department of Infrastructure for a six-month period.
Entry to the new car park spaces will be from Castle Drive, with the exit onto Central Promenade.
Since the purchase of the historic hotel, remedial work has been ongoing to repair damage of what the group has called 'significant water ingress.'
Tevir is also involved in the development of the former Zurich building on Athol Street and the Villiers site in central Douglas.
