Minister pleased with purchase
A new care home in Douglas isn't an offer to be sniffed at.
That's according to Health Minister Howard Quayle, who says the government's acquisition of a site on Salisbury Street will ease the burden on hospitals and taxpayers.
Tynwald this week approved the purchase of the £8.1 million fully-fitted home - which will contain 40 fixed-price affordable beds.
A tender process for the home's management is due to commence next month.
