Charity event at Douglas fire station
Almost £1,600 has been raised for Island firefighters, thanks to a fundraising car wash.
The four-hour event took place at Douglas fire station yesterday afternoon.
One hundred and fifty-two vehicles came in to be washed, raising approximately £1,250.
Castletown and Malew fire stations also held car washes, and raised a total of £335 for the Fire Fighters Charity.
MHK Daphne Caine was customer 147 in Douglas, and tweeted 'excellent job' and 'well done'.
Chief Fire Officer Kevin Groom has praised the efforts of everyone involved, and says it was a brilliant day.
