Increase from this Aprill
Your car tax bill is set to increase this year.
Tynwald has voted in favour of a 3.1% rise in vehicle duty from 1 April.
Under the new scheme, cars with an engine between 1.2-1.8 litres will cost £178 per year to license.
Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer said the second such rise in a year would offset falling revenues caused by a move to smaller, cleaner and electric models.
It's expected to boost vehicle duty income by around £0.7 million.
Minister Harmer says the increase is essential to allow road repairs to take place:-
Main road between Peel and Douglas to shut for tree felling
'Targeted and intelligence led approach' to protect Island's borders during Irish sailings
Airport Director role advertised with top salary of £120,000
