Treasury Minister hits out at MHK's proposals
"Absolute madness".
That is the response of Treasury Minister Alf Cannan to a proposal from Chris Robertshaw that Tynwald should consider a national insurance rebate scheme for workers with a low income.
The Douglas East MHK believes those earning below the Living Wage should be able to keep more of their own money, rather than rely on benefits.
Mr Cannan is firmly against Mr Robertshaw's concept, saying it would blow a hole in the Manx economy:
