Gov't wants to hear from you as it looks to increase interpreters for all languages

The Isle of Man Government is looking to expand its pool of interpreters to support those struggling to access services due to language barriers.

It's described as an 'important community role' and would cover various departments across the public service, including the emergency service.

Candidates would be asked to assist the police by translating witness statements, interviewing people suspected of offences and being involved in the courts.

The position is a 'no obligation' role geared around availability and successful applicants will be paid based on time spent working.
