Campaign to cut down on wasted medicine

Don't need it? Don't order it!

Wasted medicines are costing the Isle of Man Health Service in the region of £300,000.

That figure is only based on the amount of prescription items taken back to pharmacies because they're either unused or unwanted.

The true amount could be much higher.

A campaign is being launched today [MON] to encourage us to only reorder items we really need.

Department of Health Pharmaceutical Advisor Maria Bell says from now on you may be asked to check your bag before you leave the chemist.
