Awareness week planned by Resolution
A campaign focused on raising awareness amongst cohabiting partners of their lack of certain rights begins next week.
An organisation of Family Lawyers in the UK, called 'Resolution' has declared 27 November to 1 December 2017 as 'Co-habitation Awareness Week'.
The campaign is aimed at debunking the myth that those who live together have the same property, parental and financial rights as those who are married or in a civil partnership.
As part of the campaign, MHKs, MLCs, and local authority members have been invited to Advocates Smith Taubitz Unsworth Limited to discuss cohabitees rights.
