'Our pursuit for justice continues'
A group campaigning for the Summerland verdict to be overturned is calling into question a decision from the Isle of Man’s Attorney General.
It's as Walter Wannenburgh confirmed he will not be directing any new inquests into the 1973 disaster, which killed 50 people in Douglas.
In a statement, the Justice for Summerland Campaign Group has branded that decision 'deplorable'.
The group says: 'In his letter outlining his reasons, he acknowledged a list of over 30 "inadequacies and failings" yet he himself fails to consider this worthy of reinvestigation'.
They've questioned the design, construction and management of the leisure complex, and confirmed they will be challenging Mr Wannenburgh's decision before the High Court.
They added: 'The Isle of Man Government 'has had the chance to right this miscarriage of justice, however the Attorney General has made the disgraceful decision not to do so'.
