Tourist taken to hospital after needle-stick injury on Port Erin Beach
An Isle of Man resident says she’d like to see needle disposal boxes introduced at Manx beaches.
It comes after her friend - a holidaymaker from the UK - was injured after stepping on a hypodermic needle.
It happened at Port Erin Beach on Sunday (28 June).
The woman had to be taken to Noble’s Hospital as a precautionary measure.
The resident, who is originally from the UK, told Manx Radio she believes there needs to be more awareness about what to do in that situation:
