'Be Bold For Change' is the theme
The achievements of women around the world from all walks of life are being celebrated on Wednesday whilst the issue of equality is raised.
The theme for this year's International Women's Day is to 'Be Bold For Change', calling on people to create a more inclusive, and gender equal world.
The first female president of the Island's Chamber of Commerce, Micky Swindale, says biases and barriers facing women need to be challenged by all.
Mrs Swindale told Manx Radio she hadn't encountered prejudiced attitudes in the workplace, but had been the subject of discriminatory comments online:
