Onchan MHK had been gauging support for the role
A potential candidate for the role of chief minister has confirmed they will not be putting their name forward for the role.
Onchan MHK Rob Callister had distributed his manifesto to members last week while gauging support.
However, taking to social media, he admitted he didn't have sufficient support to secure a nomination.
While admitting he's disappointed, Mr Callister says he fully respects the democratic process.
Nominations for the role of chief minister close at midday today (Tuesday 6 October).
