Call for investigation into £26 million film losses

MHK wants committee to look into written off investments

Taxpayers have a right to know what caused the loss of £26 million in film investments.

That's the view of a backbench MHK.

Kate Beecroft will call on Tynwald to appoint a committee to investigate the events which led to the losses from the Media Development Fund over a ten year period.

The money, which was invested on behalf of government by CinemaNX and Pinewood, was written off over a ten year period.

Mrs Beecroft says getting answers is important.
