Calls for public inquiry
The directors of a well-known meat business are calling for a public inquiry into the lack of locally-reared produce available in the Island.
Andrew Gibbs and John O'Connell have issued a statement saying the industry is suffering from 'major supply issues', and sellers are unable to fulfil customer needs.
They say orders from Isle of Man Meats are sometimes cancelled at short notice, and substandard meat sometimes supplied instead of the premium cuts requested.
Mr O'Connell says the situation can't carry on as it is:
