Fishing boat taking on water
Peel lifeboat “Ruby Clery” was launched last night (Tues May 28) to go to the aid of a sinking fishing boat.
The call-out came just after 6pm when the boat raised the alarm after its pumps failed 21 miles west of Peel.
The Ruby Clery was launched and made best speed to the vessel, though was beaten to the scene by Donaghadee lifeboat which escorted the boat into Portavogie, after it managed to get its pumps working again.
On returning to Peel around 10pm the lifeboat was asked to help a local yacht which had a rope tangled in its prop.
The vessel was safely towed into Peel harbour.
