Lengthy investigation by police
A 25 year-old man will appear in court this morning (Thursday) in connection with an attempted burglary at a convenience store.
He’s due before magistrates after allegedly threatening and challenging a staff member with a lit firecracker at Newby’s store in Douglas on November the third before making off with a quantity of cash.
It follows a lengthy investigation by the CID.
The man has also been charged with a further offence of burglary at Billown Quarry which was reported to the police several years ago.
