Finley to throw switch for support event
Today is World Duchenne Awareness Day - and landmarks around the Island will be lit lime green tonight to highlight the rare muscle-wasting disease.
The Tower of Refuge, Ramsey Swing Bridge, the Sea Terminal, Pulrose power station and Viking House in St John's will glow green in a show of support.
Five Manx youngsters suffer from Duchenne's - among them 7-year old Finley Hesketh from Onchan, who's inspired a local charity.
He's been invited to throw the power station switch to start the lighting-up.
The youngster's eligible for a costly new drug which can slow the disease, but Translarna is not available in the Isle of Man.
His family say they'll move to England to obtain the drug on the NHS.
