BUDGET: 2023 financial plan passed by Tynwald

Allinson wins backing for his flagship Budget

Tynwald has approved the Budget for the next financial year.

Treasury Minister Dr Alex Allinson won the backing of the court for the document which sets out how the Island’s money will be spent during 2023.

Just one MHK - North Douglas MHK John Wannenburgh - voted against the financial plan; with the remaining 23 voting in favour. 

All nine MLCs supported the Budget. 

The vote was taken at 3.15pm.
