Brewery pals pay tribute to 'local legend' with visit to York City

Bushy's family takes cardboard cut-out of 'Raz' to Altrincham match

A group of friends from the Isle of Man have been remembering a man known as a 'legend of the Island's music scene' with a special trip to the UK.

Raz McVeighty was the face of Bushy's Goth IPA and a familiar presence at the Rover's Return and Bushy's Brew Pub in Douglas. 

Recognisable also as a 'trolley man' at Lake Road Tesco, his death last year sparked an outpouring of tributes - see HERE.

On Easter Monday, members of the brewery family wore masks and took a cardboard cut-out of Raz to the home ground of his beloved York City.

York City faced Altrincham, with the home side winning 2-1 thanks to a last-minute goal.

Raz was particularly fond of the number four, which was the position he played on the football pitch. The winning goal on Monday (6 April) came from Malachi Fagan-Walcott, York City's number four.
