Bradda Head fire brought under control

More than 20 firefighters have put out a blaze on the west of Bradda Head.

It started just before 4 o'clock this afternoon.

Crews from Port Erin and Douglas were sent there along with specialist vehicles to help them reach the rather isolated location.

The incident command unit was also set up at the scene.

The fire spread around 200 metres and took just over an hour to put out.

The area was saturated to prevent it from re-igniting, and crews left the scene at 6:15pm.

A short time after the fire was reported, Manx Radio's Tim Glover reported from Rowany Golf Course where smoke and flames could be clearly seen.
