Onchan Commissioners seek Morrison replacement
Onchan District Commissioners discussed recruitment of a new clerk behind closed doors last night (11 June).
The board have yet to appoint somebody in the role full-time despite sacking the previous clerk Michael Morrison nearly ten months ago.
He was dismissed without notice following an extraordinary general meeting in August last year. It’s understood there’s been legal action between the two parties.
During a public meeting at Hawthorn Villa yesterday, members of the public and deputy clerk Tim Craig were asked to leave the room while the issue was raised.
Members received a report on the recruitment of a clerk, or chief executive, from Martin MacFarlane, who was appointed chairman last month.
