Council says IOM route would 'break even at best'
Blackpool Council has ruled out reintroducing flights between the Isle of Man and the town, citing a lack of demand.
Blackpool Airport stopped operating commercial flights a year ago, six months after the demise of Island-based air operator Citywing.
The council moved to buy the airport shortly afterwards, with the prospect of resurrecting previous destinations including Ronaldsway.
But in its new airport masterplan, the authority said that would be unviable, and routes such as the Isle of Man would 'break even at best'.
