MHK defends proposals
An MHK looking to reform the Island's planning system says he's doing it because people want to be heard when it comes to decisions which affect them.
Malew and Santon member Graham Cregeen narrowly got the backing of his House of Keys colleagues yesterday - 12-10 in favour - to grant him leave to introduce a private member's bill.
It will explore the possibility of giving communities a greater say in planning for their area.
Mr Cregeen denies such a system would be too obstructive or bureaucratic:
