Crown Dependencies commit to public registers by 2022

The treasury minister says proposed changes to the Island's beneficial ownership register are a 'tidying exercise'.

A consultation is being held which puts forward amendments to improve the accuracy of the information held in the database, and how quickly it can be updated.

Alf Cannan says they're aimed at improving the register:

All Crown Dependencies have committed to start making their beneficial ownership registers public by 2022.

Phil Craine, a campaigner who's part of local group Taxwatch, says this would be a welcome move:
