New flagship vessel taken off Heysham crossings today
The Manxman has been taken off passenger duties for the Heysham crossing this morning after suffering technical issues over the weekend.
The new vessel was turned around on its journey across to Lancashire yesterday and brought back to Douglas due to what was described as 'problems with the propulsion system'.
Despite being scheduled to carry out the sailings this morning, passengers due on the Manxman were instead loaded on to the Ben-my-Chree.
The Steam Packet's new flagship arrived in Manx waters in July after a lengthy voyage from South Korea where she was built. She's due to take over the Ben-My-Chree's full schedule later this month.
Manx Radio has approached the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company for comment.
