The health minister is calling for the public to be given more realistic hospital waiting times.
Figures were released this week as part of the department's five-year-strategy, but showed targets being missed for both inpatient and outpatient appointments.
Kate Beecroft says the information will now be used to improve health provision.
She says people deserve to know how long it's likely to be before their appointment:
