Clare Bettison MHK apologises for error
The BBC received an apology after an MHK made wrongful accusations in a Tynwald Select Committee - but evidence of her claims won't be redacted.
Douglas East member Clare Bettison declared the news outlet announced her general election result before a recount in the constituency in September last year.
A parliamentary committee chaired by David Cretney MLC was established to review election concerns.
Its evidence, including the false statement which Ms Bettison cannot validate, has been published and is now held on record.
After vehemently refuting her claim, the BBC says it should be pulled from the document.
The committee's recommendations were accepted in Tynwald this week, and passed to the Cabinet Office for further consideration.
Tynwald officials have refused to remove the allegation, but have attached the BBC's official complaint to the papers.
