Lloyds on Parliament Street will shut in February
The Ramsey branch of Lloyds will close in February next year due to a significant drop in the number of people visiting it.
Between 2018 and 2023 personal customer transactions, at the Parliament Street outlet, fell by a third.
A spokesperson for the bank told Manx Radio: “Mobile banking is more popular than ever with visits to our Ramsey branch falling significantly over time.
“Customers can continue to bank with us through our app, online and over the phone, alongside accessing cash at nearby free-to-use ATMs.”
The bank will close on 10 February –people are being advised to use the Villiers House branch in Douglas or the Lloyds’ banking services in post offices instead in Ramsey (from 25 November) and Peel.
Manx Radio has asked for clarification over whether there will be redundancies as a result of the decision.
It's understood a small number of employees may be impacted by the change and are being provided with the support they need whether they wish to find a role in another part of the business or with another company.
