The head of an umbrella organisation for Isle of Man charities says a ten million pounds windfall would be great news – if it’s used well.
Earlier this week, Treasury Minister Eddie Teare revealed the government hoped to pool money lying in abandoned bank accounts, and dole it out through grants to voluntary organisations.
David Talbot of Connect2Charity says it’s a unique opportunity to give a charitable boost as donations drop during hard times.
He says if the cash is used wisely, it could generate even more money for charities:
