49-year-old had originally denied the offence
A Douglas man has been banned from the road for two years after being caught drug driving.
Brendan Christopher Hayes, of Selborne Drive, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where he changed his plea to guilty.
The 49-year-old was stopped by police at The Private Jet Company, on the exit road at the airport, on 28 June last year.
He failed a drug wipe test and was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters; blood tests showed he was almost three times over the legal limit.
Magistrates fined Hayes £1,000 and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £300; no evidence was offered on a charge of possessing the Class B drug.
Hayes will remain disqualified until he’s taken and passed an extended driving test.
