59-year-old almost 2.5 times over legal limit
An Andreas woman has been banned from the roads after police found her driving erratically while almost two and a half times over the limit.
Fifty-nine-year-old Zoe Elizabeth Brindley, of Larrivane Close, appeared at Douglas Courthouse.
She pleaded guilty to drink driving on February 18.
Police spotted her black BMW X1 weaving across the road at around 5pm.
Officers stopped her on Ballasteen Road, near The Grosvenor pub, and noticed her speech was slurred and eyes were glazed.
She said she'd had one glass of wine earlier that day but a roadside breath test showed no alcohol in her system.
However at Police Headquarters a blood test showed she was well over the legal alcohol limit.
Magistrates banned her from driving for three years, fined her £1,700 and ordered her to pay £50 towards prosecution costs.
