'BallaLockie' could be ready in coming weeks

The family of Lockie Kirk say they've been overwhelmed by the amount of support that businesses and Manx residents have offered as they prepare to welcome their teenager home. 

The 19-year-old had to be airlifted to Aintree in 2022 after an incident which resulted in him suffering severe head injuries.

Since then he has spent most his time at a rehabilitation centre in Liverpool. 

But he is expected to return home soon.

A drop in session was held at Peel Football Club last night (6 February) where members of Lockie's family gathered to speak to businesses and individuals that would like to assist in the build.

John Kneen, a self employed joiner, is spearheading the 'BallaLockie' project. He's hopeful to have the structure and building ready in the coming weeks:
