Progression of investigation was originally at risk
The Children's Champion has praised his colleagues in Tynwald for the court's treatment of the Knottfield inquiry.
Investigations only went ahead in the first place after a successful motion from Tim Baker in July 2017, which narrowly got through.
The Council of Ministers and members from the departments of Health and Home Affairs voted en masse for an amendment from the then-Health Minister Kate Beecroft, which would have resulted in no further investigation into the matter.
During discussion of the Chief Constable's Annual Report yesterday (Tue 20), Mr Baker said it would be "remiss of him to not acknowledge the reference" from Gary Roberts.
