Nature trail in line for thousands in grant aid
A sixty-acre nature play trail in the north of the Island could receive up to £12,000 in grant aid, courtesy of supermarket Tesco.
The Manx Wildlife Trust is one of the groups on the Island put forward for a grant in an intiative being run by Tesco and Groundwork.
The money has been raised from the 5p bag levy on plastic bags - which is in place elsewhere in the British Isles but not in the Isle of Man - and is being awarded to environmental and greenspace projects.
Ramsey Forest Project Manager Andree Dubbeldam says as one of only two nominees they're guaranteed at least £8,000 for the long term scheme.
Voting is open in the Tesco store from October 31 to November 13.
Customers will cast their vote using a token given to them at the checkout each time they shop.
