240 ceremonies took place in 2017
August was the most popular month for marriages in 2017, according to Civil Registry figures.
More than 240 marriage ceremonies took place last year, with more than 60 per cent of them taking place at a Registry Office.
A couple from the UK bucked the trend by tying the knot at the start line of the Ramsey Sprint on the day of the racing.
There were also six civil partnership ceremonies on the Island in 2017, all of which took place at Douglas' Civil Registry.
