The Island’s Attorney General has been accused of ‘telling lies’ to ‘cover his tracks’.
The allegation came from the prosecution as the trial of Stephen Harding began in earnest at Douglas Courthouse this morning (Wed).
Mr Harding – who is currently suspended in his role as the government's senior legal adviser - stands accused of committing perjury and submitting false documentation.
It relates to the winding up of local company Street Heritage Limited which ran up an unpaid tax bill of more than £180,000.
Mr Harding denies all the charges.
