Aspects of Manx Grand Prix 'extremely challenging' to organise

But organisers feeling positive ahead of 2026 event

Certain aspects of the Manx Grand Prix are 'extremely challenging' to organise given the current global financial climate.

That's according to the Manx Motor Cycle Club which organises the meeting; it's due to start on Sunday (16 August).

Chair John McBride says they're in a stable position due to support from key sponsors and ongoing assistance, in some areas, from government.

He believes the Manx Grand Prix still holds an important place in road racing as a whole:

There are currently 52 listed entries in the Junior/Sportbike MGP category and 67 on the roster in the Senior/Supersport MGP section - these numbers do remain subject to change, potentially at short notice.

The 2026 Manx Grand Prix is due to get underway on Sunday with two qualifying sessions for each of the classes.

Roads around the Snaefell Mountain Course are due to shut at 12.45pm and reopen no later than 6pm.

The Manx Grand Prix will run alongside the 2026 Classic TT for a near two-week period between Sunday, 16 August and Friday, 28 August.
