Dredging issue needs attention - MHK
A Douglas MHK says he's concerned at what he sees as lack of progress on a new ferry terminal in Liverpool.
David Ashford asked for an update on progress in Tynwald yesterday.
Tynwald gave approval last year to purchase Princes Half-Tide dock at a cost of £3.5 million, for a new terminal to repalce the exisiting Pier Head facility, half a mile up-river.
Minister Ray Harmer told the Court proposals to build a new terminal at the dock are at a very early stage, and its suitability has yet to be confirmed by a recently-formed project team.
Mr Ashford had concerns about dredging in particular, and now believes the issue needs to be prioritised:
Person suffers 'significant injuries' in 'serious assault' near Peel
Business case for horse trams to be put before Tynwald in July
Plans to turn 'underused space' in central Douglas into wellness retreat
Employment grievance 'upheld' against board of Peel Commissioners
