Pressure of business interests forced decision
A member of Port St Mary Commissioners has left the board, after a week in which residents expressed concerns about financial management of the village.
It was announced today (29 June) that Richard Ashcroft has resigned with immediate effect due to 'the increased pressure of business interests'.
The local authority's chair Dr Michelle Haywood says he'll be 'sorely missed for his input and advice given over a number of years'.
The owner of Patchwork Cafe told members he'd stepped down with a 'heavy heart', but had 'genuinely enjoyed working with them over some challenging times'.
