Expected to return to service on Sunday 16 August

The Steam Packet Company says the MV Arrow is to enter dry dock this weekend.

It will go to Cammell Laird in Birkenhead on Sunday (9 August) after an oil leak was found in one of the vessel's control pitch propellor systems.

The company says the works 'are scheduled to be completed within five working days, with Arrow expected to return to service on Sunday 16 August'.

Freight services will continue throughout the week using Ben-my-Chree.

Earlier, the Steam Packet had said engineers were working to get the vessel fit to sail ahead of its next scheduled crossing on Sunday.

It returned to the Island to provide additional freight capacity while the company's flagship Manxman is also out of service.
